UN Women is the United Nations entity dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women. A global champion for women and girls, UN Women was established to accelerate progress on meeting their needs worldwide.
UN Women supports the UN Member States as they set global standards for achieving gender equality, and works with governments and civil society to design laws, policies, programmes and services needed to ensure that the standards are effectively implemented and truly benefit women and girls worldwide. It works globally to make the vision of sustainable development goals a reality for women and girls and stands behind women’s equal participation in all aspects of life.

Welcome to the first edition of VIBGYOR virtual Model United Nations (Vv-MUN)!
Any MUN conference and the Vv-MUN in particular will work on the mechanism of recognising knowledge, applying it articulately and creatively, thus nurturing a change. Delegates arrive with research, and use it to debate and create realistic solutions.
I am currently in the 12th Grade of the IBDP at Oberoi International School and I plan to study a combination of Computer Science and Philosophy or Politics, as I think combining a technology-driven science with a liberal art would provide me with a holistic education. Apart from education, I am keenly interested in basketball, and rapping under the name ‘Zivy’. I absolutely adore reading as well and am also the Co-Chief Administrative Officer for a start-up called Evolv.
From making learnt and uneventful speeches to being able to come up with indigenous points, there seems to be a polarity in the person I have become after conferences, than the one I was before. Apart from being more articulate and confident, MUNs have also helped me meet some of the most brilliant people.
That being said, I hope that everybody involved in this conference – the Secretariat, the Executive Board, and the Delegates, take back and learn a lot from this conference.

Dear Delegates,
It is my honour and privilege to welcome you to the first edition of VIBGYOR virtual Model United Nations (Vv-MUN), which has always been one of the premier conferences of our country and I am elated to be a part of it.
As your Chair of UNW, I see MUNs as considerable learning opportunities and catalysts for the development of young adults. They enable young adults to think critically and simultaneously authorise delegates to develop leadership skills, communication skills, and friendships, within and outside the committee room.
I am fascinated by economics and have intriguing views on various socio-economic topics. Outside the realm of Model United Nations, I also enjoy listening to 80s and 90s music and in my free time you will find me playing the guitar.
I love working with first-time MUNners and introducing them to this spirited world of MUNs so feel free to approach me with any queries throughout the MUN. I will ensure fruitful debate in committee that will enable delegates to think from different perspectives and have more open-minded views.
I look forward to involvement and pertinent input from all delegates at the first edition of VIBGYOR virtual MUN (Vv-MUN).
