The Human Rights Council is an inter-governmental body within the United Nations system responsible for strengthening the promotion and protection of human rights around the globe and for addressing situations of human rights violations.
It has the ability to discuss all thematic human rights issues and situations that require its attention throughout the year
The Council is made up of 47 United Nations Member States which are elected by the UN General Assembly. The term of each seat is three years and no member may occupy a seat for more than two consecutive terms.
Congratulations on getting the opportunity to participate in VMUN’21.
To the veterans of MUN we promise a very enriching debate that you’ve never experienced before. To the newcomers, we wish to say, we are really excited to be a part of your maiden voyage.
The importance of our generation being ‘ready enough’ to accept various challenges that lie ahead of us can hardly be overstated. What we desire from the delegates is not how experienced or articulate they are. Rather, we want to see how she/he/them can respect disparities and differences of opinion and work around these. All of this should best happen as delegates extend their own foreign policy in such a manner that it encompasses more of the others considerations without compromising their own stand, thereby reaching a unanimously acceptable practical solution.
All the best delegates! Looking forward to working with you all.

Chair – HRC
It is my absolute pleasure to welcome you to VIBGYORMUN 11.
I am the Chair of HRC for VIBGYORMUN 11. Having been a part of the MUN circuit since 2016, I have developed a nuanced understanding of the nourishing experience the event lays out. MUNs have helped me grow as a person and have empowered me to learn a great deal about myself.
I am currently studying at St. Jerome’s PU College after completing my early studies at Vibgyor High – Electronic city. My hobbies include playing guitar, reading and writing novels, and playing basketball.
The experience we gain together may be different this year as we stick to a virtual version of our dynamic and inspiring MUN. However, I whole-heartedly look forward to everyone’s participation and enthusiasm. I vouch to do my best as your chair to make sure everyone gets ample chances to express their points, learn, and enjoy the experience at the same time.
I wish you all the very best!
I am grateful for this opportunity as I get to be a chair of HRC in VIBGYORMUN 11! I am really excited about working with like-minded individuals to preserve and promote the culture of debate.
From being a delegate and chairing MUNs to making your favorite ‘The Office’ references, I do it all.
Exhibiting my passion for MUNs and my overall spirit of discussion helps me relish the MUN experience even more. I have had an eventful MUN career for over four years now. When I am not representing my institute, I am either singing a song on my ukulele or talking about a future in HR.
I have always been sincere in my role as a member of the Executive Board and I look forward to a great discussion.
