Greetings from VIBGYOR MUN!
The year 2020-21 brought us numerous challenges, with the most crucial one being the transformation from a physical setup to online modules, especially for schools and other educational organisations. The VIBGYOR group of schools made consistent and tremendous efforts to deliver amidst the much-needed changes while ensuring that the transition would be efficient, effective and smooth. With the rapidly evolving world, it was very important to keep up pace and provide students with varied experiences. We went one step ahead by conducting co-scholastic activities online, thereby ameliorating our students’ learning.
One of our foremost objectives was to bring VIBGYORMUN to the homes of delegates by conducting a virtual conference to promote experiential learning. With this noble thought to propel us to do our utmost, the first ever VIBGYOR virtual Model United Nations conference was conducted in November 2020.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_btn title=”VIEW MORE” style=”flat” shape=”square” color=”danger” link=”|||” el_class=”comBtn”][vc_row_inner el_id=”more_section”][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]The success of our first online VIBGYORMUN conference, which was open to students from across the globe, can be gauged from the overwhelming number of delegates from national and international schools and colleges. We received 320 registrations, certainly a record for the inaugural virtual event.
The virtual VIBGYORMUN provided students with an in-depth understanding of the working of the United Nations, helped develop their public speaking, critical thinking, problem solving and negotiation skills. They learnt to collaborate, debate, discuss, research, to take risks, to gain perspectives and to empathise with people grappling with natural and man-made disasters in different parts of the nation and the world. The erudite keynote speakers from the United Kingdom and Norway enhanced the existing knowledge of the delegates.
VIBGYORMUN 11 conference, just like all its predecessors held from 2010 to 2019 in the physical mode, and close to its prototype virtual one held in 2020, will provide student delegates a first-hand experience of the world of politics, diplomacy and dialogue.
The VIBGYORMUN core committee and the alumni of the VIBGYOR group of schools are working tirelessly to present the next conference to all enthusiastic MUNers. There is no compromise on quality from our end as the Chairs of all the committees are students who collectively have national and international MUN experience of more than 300 MUNs.
