Dear Delegates,
My name is Aarnav Chaturvedi and I am delighted to be the Chairperson for the Security Council.
It is my privilege to welcome you to VIBGYOR MUN 13. The Security Council is the heart of the UN, and its jurisdiction extends to all topics that pertain to international peace and security. And while debating a variety of global issues, I hope all of you are left with a newfound interest in international affairs and political discourse.
I am a sophomore at NMIMS, studying Applied Statistics. I have worked at MNCs like the Aditya Birla Group, and think tanks like the Observer Research Foundation, and have always been interested in international affairs.
From the first VIBGYOR MUN conference I attended in 2016, to being a Secretary General last year – VIBGYOR MUN has been a formative journey that simultaneously built my conference and humbled my ego. My aim for the conference is to invite people from different backgrounds, make them better leaders, and debaters and help our generation forge a brighter, more inclusive future.
To all delegates: I will work hard in order to provide you with a MUN experience that encourages you to express yourself to the best of your abilities. MUNs’ are a great opportunity to not only meet like-minded individuals but also to find your sense of confidence and purpose. And for everyone who might be scared or nervous, ‘Do not fear, fear is the mind killer’. So make your voice heard, present your ideas and I can promise you, this year’s conference will be an experience like no other.
