[vc_row][vc_column][vc_wp_text]Dear Delegates,
I’m Vanshika Thacker and it’s my absolute honour to serve as the Chairperson of the United Nations Human Rights Council for VIBGYOR MUN 13.
Model UN has profoundly impacted me and continues to do so. When actively engaging in Model United Nations, I began to see the importance of International Relations. It has transformed me into an individual with an awareness of innumerable social, political, global, and economic issues that humans are subject to. It has empowered me and reaffirmed my belief that my voice has the power to make a change. With every conference, I have seen myself grow as an individual, from a nervous delegate to a responsible citizen with a zeal for social change. I am certain, you too will find yourself more knowledgeable and confident by the end of this conference.
In today’s world where militarization, radicalization, racial discrimination, bio-warfare, and nuclear warfare are predominant issues, bringing about change through diplomacy and peace-making treaties becomes extremely essential. VIBGYOR MUN will serve as a platform for you to discuss several matters of global importance and take away with you learning for a lifetime.
I am currently an outgoing Grade 12 student, and I will be pursuing Liberal Arts at university, this fall. Having trained in dance for over 8 years, a Diploma in Fine Arts, and a burning passion for theatre and film I have always been culturally inclined and drawn toward expressing my views through creative forms. If not MUNs, you are sure to find me performing on stage. A film enthusiast and an ardent aficionado of Bollywood movies, quoting dialogues at every instance is half my personality.
I absolutely cannot wait to meet each one of you and see how the journey unfolds!
Best Wishes
Regards,
Vanshika Thacker

I am Disha Nischal, your co-chair for UNHRC 2023. If you see me overly delighted, it is because a poetic idea has struck me, I have just consumed coffee or heard quality level debate. Personally, I have been a delegate in various committees since the 6th Grade, and I must say the rigour MUN’s build in us is unmatchable. What is more important than winning in a conference, especially your first, is realising how important your voice is, and for that, you must debate!
I do vividly remember my first GSL speech. My hands slightly quivering and my mouth drying up. However, just after delivering it, I realised how much value it added to the conference.
It would not have been possible without the contribution of the Executive Board who made me comfortable, and I promise to ensure the same for all of you.
Good luck, delegates!
Regards,
Disha Nischal
