Committee Members – SC

Hello everyone!

I’m Zyfn Kothavala from Pune, currently studying in the 12th grade.

Over the last 5 years, I have done over 25 MUNs all across India, representing various countries and holding important portfolios in a plethora of committees. I have won at several MUNs, including the Government Law College MUN, Harvard MUN India and Pune’s Dynamic Training MUN. In addition, I run my school’s Model UN Society, with the help of some of my friends. Besides the MUNs, I also participate in a lot of debate competitions and elocutions for my school.

Chairing a Security Council committee is always a lot of fun, as it’s a small committee that wields a lot of power in the UN. I hope this committee has a lot of fruitful debate, and I look forward to seeing all of you soon.

When I’m not in a committee, I enjoy making (usually bad) music, playing some badminton, or acting in my school play. Obsessed with Star Wars, Harry Potter, B99, Community, and more, I anticipate some fun non-MUN related debates as well.

If any of you have any questions about the MUN, please feel free to contact me anytime and I’d be happy to help you out.

See you in committee!
Happy MUNning!

Zyfn Kothawala,
Chair – Security Council

Greetings Delegates!

I am Vanshika Thacker and it is my honour to serve as your Chair for VMUN 12.

I have been a part of the MUN circuit for over 4 years now. I have attended numerous conferences over these years and won awards in most of them. Through my experience in over 15 conferences, as a delegate and an executive board member, I have developed a passionate interest in international relations, diplomacy, and global politics. With every conference, I have seen myself grow as an individual. I have metamorphosed from a nervous delegate to a responsible citizen with zeal towards social change and a voice that is fearless in expressing my opinions. Today here I am, motivated and focused as ever, wanting to lead our committee into the most engaging and productive debates.

I am currently a student in the 12th grade, pursuing Humanities in Bangalore. I have trained in dance for over 8 years, have a diploma in fine arts and possess a burning passion for theatre and film. I have always been culturally inclined and drawn toward expressing my views through creative forms. If not MUNs you’re sure to find me performing on stage. A film enthusiast and a sucker for Bollywood, quoting movie dialogues in every instance makes up half my personality.

MUNs have had a great contribution to who I am as a person today and I hope that by the end of this conference you will find yourself more responsible, knowledgeable and confident as an individual.

With my experience, I hope to do justice as your Chair.

Vanshika Thacker,
Chair – Security Council
